Creating a Site
From the dashboard
- Go to your dashboard and click New site
- Enter a name and choose a slug
- Optionally set a site-level password (you can change this later)
- Click Create site
Your site is created in Draft mode — it won't be visible to visitors until you publish it.
Slugs
The slug is the URL identifier for your site. Once set, it appears in your site URL:
sidian.app/s/your-slug
Changing a slug breaks any existing links to your site. Choose carefully.
Slugs must be lowercase and may only contain letters, numbers, and hyphens.
Site limits
The number of sites you can create depends on your plan:
| Plan | Sites |
|---|---|
| Free | Unlimited sites, 25 files total |
| Starter | Unlimited sites, 2,500 files total |
| Pro | Unlimited sites, 25,000 files total |
File and storage limits apply across all your sites combined. See Plans & Limits for details.
Publishing
A newly created site is a Draft — only you can see it in the dashboard. When you're ready to make it public, click Publish site in the site header.
See Sites/Publishing for more on the publish/unpublish workflow.
Deleting a site
To permanently delete a site, go to the site's Settings tab and scroll to the danger zone. Deletion removes all files and rendered content from Sidian's servers immediately and cannot be undone.
